Pumpkin Spice Latte

Are you a pumpkin spice latte fan? Better known as a PSL, this fall-inspired latte has become a coffee icon!

While the coffee shop version tastes delicious, you can save calories AND $$ by making your own at home. My version has real pumpkin puree, your favorite brewed coffee, real maple syrup and vanilla extract, your favorite milk and pie spices. It’s wholesome, delicious and totally customizable!

Here are the steps to make it:

  1. In a 2-cup measuring cup or bowl, whisk together the coffee, pumpkin puree, 1 teaspoon of the maple syrup, pumpkin pie spice and vanilla extract until thoroughly combined.
  2. Fill a tall glass with ice. Pour the coffee mixture over the ice.
  3. In a separate cup, froth the milk and remaining teaspoon of maple syrup using a frother until foamy. (Alternatively, blend the milk and maple syrup in a blender until foamy.) Pour the milk foam over top of the coffee mixture. Top with cinnamon. Serve immediately.

To make a hot latte, skip the ice and pour the hot coffee mixture into a large coffee mug. Then, warm your milk mixture in the microwave, froth it, then pour the frothed milk on top of the coffee.

If you’re looking to make your PSL even lower in sugar (my version only as 9g of sugar), reduce the amount of maple syrup or omit it altogether. You can use a zero calorie/zero sugar sweetener like stevia or monkfruit and add a splash of maple extract if you still want that maple flavor without the sugar.

Have you ever made a PSL at home? Tell me all about it!
